Candle Making Kits
ZEROMX Candle Making Kit Review
Four kits, one wax weight. The 161-piece box holds no more wax than the smallest one, and twice the jars.

This kit arrives in our search data by name rather than by type, which is what a brand-and-model search looks like. So this page does what that search wants: exactly what is in each box, which of the four boxes to buy, and the arithmetic that separates them.
We have not used this kit and we do not claim to. Everything below is transcribed from the published listings, plus arithmetic we show in full.
One thing to say up front, because it is the finding that organizes the whole review. ZEROMX sells four kits at four prices. The wax weight is identical in all four.
A second thing, so the two pages do not read as contradicting each other. Our beginner kit roundup ranks the ZEROMX kit last of its field and says we would not buy it as a first kit, because the molds want a pillar wax the box does not contain. That still stands. This page answers a narrower question - if you are buying ZEROMX, which of the four - and the answer to that is not the same as the answer to which kit a beginner should buy.
What the four listings publish
| Kit | Melting pot | Wax | Jars | Scents | Wicks | Molds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8-jar digital | 500 ml, LED digital | 1200 g | 8 | 6 | 20 | 3 floral |
| 8-jar, 900 ml | 900 ml, no display, thermometer included | 1200 g | 8 | 6 | 20 | 3 floral |
| All-in-One succulent | 500 ml, LED digital | 1200 g | 8 | 6 | 20 | 2 succulent, 6 patterns |
| 161-piece | 500 ml, LED digital | 1200 g | 16 | 8 | 50 | None |
| Melter alone | Digital, detachable pot | None | None | None | Unspecified, included | None |
Publishing the wax weight at all puts ZEROMX ahead of most of this category. Our kit roundup and the what comes in a kit guide both make the same point: the wax quantity is the figure that decides what a kit is worth, and it is the figure most listings omit. ZEROMX prints it on all four.
Which is what makes the next section possible, and awkward for one of the four.
The jar arithmetic, worked
So 1200 g is an eight-jar quantity at the sizes a kit like this ships, and three of the four kits contain eight jars. That is a kit whose contents agree with each other, which is rarer than it should be.
The 161-piece headline is reached by counting wicks, gift boxes, labels and ribbons. Fifty wicks cost pennies. Wax does not, and the wax did not change.
This is worth contrasting with the other named kit on this site, because the two brands fail in opposite directions. The SAEUYVB kit publishes 3 lb of wax against 16 tins, which is 48 oz into vessels that need about 3.2 oz each - that one works out. Its problem is that SAEUYVB sells several near-identical listings whose contents genuinely differ, so you have to check which you are buying. ZEROMX has the reverse problem: the contents barely differ at all in the thing that matters, while the headline changes a great deal.

Top pick · One box with a digital pot, eight jars and three molds
ZEROMX Candle Making Kit with Digital Wax Melting Pot and Molds
ZEROMX
The ZEROMX kit whose contents agree with each other: a published 1200 g of wax against eight jars, which is the right ratio, plus the 500 ml digital pot and three floral molds. Of the four kits in the line this is the one to buy.

What that means
The published 1200 g is what makes this kit judgeable, and most kit listings omit it. At the site's conversion of 0.8 oz of wax per fluid ounce of container, 1200 g is 42.3 oz, which fills about eight 6 to 7 oz jars. Eight jars is exactly what is in the box.
Molded candles need a harder wax than container candles, because nothing holds the sides up, and the listing does not name its wax or publish a melt point. Treat the three molds as wax melt molds rather than candle molds unless you buy a pillar blend for them.
The pot is the reason to buy a kit at this price rather than wax and jars separately. What the listing will not say is what temperature it reaches or holds, so you cannot check it against a published pour window before buying.
Good
- Publishes its wax weight, which most kit listings do not
- Jar count and wax weight actually match each other
- Digital pot removes the stovetop and the separate thermometer
- Three silicone molds, so the kit makes something other than jar candles
Less good
- The pot publishes no temperature range, so it cannot be checked against a wax's published pour window
- No wax brand and no melt point, so nothing in the box can be looked up or repeated
- The six scents are unnamed and cannot be re-ordered
- Container soy is the wrong wax for the included molds
Skip this one if
This is your first ever pour and you only want jar candles. The molds add a variable you do not need yet, and half of what you are paying for is a pot you may already have a substitute for.

Pick 2 · A bigger pot, if you would rather read a thermometer yourself
ZEROMX Candle Making Kit for Adults Beginners Full Set
ZEROMX
The same box with a 900 ml pot instead of a 500 ml one, and a separate thermometer instead of a digital display. Nearly double the melting capacity for less money, in exchange for watching the temperature yourself.

- 12 gift boxes, stirring spoon, 20 m ribbon, dried flowersSource: Amazon product listing, read 2026-10-23
What that means
This is the only kit in the line that includes a thermometer, and that is because it is the only one whose pot has no display. The listing does not present it as the trade-off it is.
900 ml against 500 ml is the more interesting difference. 1200 g of soy is roughly 1.3 liters of melted wax, so the 500 ml pot is a two-batch job and this one is closer to one.
Everything else in the box is identical to the digital kits, down to the three floral molds and the same unnamed six scents.
Good
- 900 ml pot, nearly double the digital models, usually for less money
- A thermometer is included rather than assumed
- Same published 1200 g of wax and the same matching 8 jars
Less good
- No temperature control at all - you are holding a wax temperature by eye and hand
- The pot publishes no temperature range or wattage
- Same unnamed, unre-orderable scents as the rest of the line
Skip this one if
You want the kit to manage the temperature for you. That is the single thing this one does not do, and it is the main reason people buy a kit with a pot in it.

Pick 3 · Sculpted succulent candles rather than flowers
ZEROMX All-in-One Candle Making Kit with Digital Melting Pot
ZEROMX
Identical to the main digital kit except the molds: two succulent molds carrying six patterns instead of three single flowers. Buy on which shape you want, because nothing else here differs.

- Also includes
- 12 gift boxes, 8 jar gift tags, 2 heat-resistant gloves, stirring spoon, 20 m ribbonSource: Amazon product listing, read 2026-10-23
What that means
The molds are the whole difference. Six succulent patterns across two trays, with flat bottoms the listing says keep them stable when full - which is a real consideration for a shaped mold and worth saying.
The listing also suggests the molds for wax melts, and that is the more sensible use for them. A sculpted shape with no wick is a melt; a sculpted shape with a wick is a pillar candle in container soy, which is the wrong wax for a free-standing shape.
Same 1200 g, same 8 jars, same unnamed scents, same unpublished pot temperature as the rest of the line.
Good
- Six mold patterns, the most shape variety in the line
- Flat-bottomed molds, which the listing calls out and which matters when full
- Matching wax and jar count, like the other 8-jar kits
Less good
- The molds suit wax melts better than candles, because the kit's wax is a container soy
- Pot temperature range still unpublished
- Scents still unnamed
Skip this one if
You want jar candles. The molds are the only reason to pick this over the other digital kit, and a container soy poured into a shaped mold will not hold the shape the mold made.

Pick 4 · Buying the pot without the kit around it
ZEROMX Electric Candle Wax Melter with Detachable Stainless Steel Pot
ZEROMX
The melter from the kits, sold on its own for roughly half the price of the cheapest kit. If what you actually wanted was temperature control, this is the honest way to buy it and then choose your own wax.

- Wooden stirring sticks and candle wicksSource: Amazon product listing, read 2026-10-23
What that means
A detachable inner pot is the feature that decides whether a melter is usable twice. A fixed-bowl melter has to be scraped out hot; this one lifts out and goes in hot water.
The listing names soy, beeswax and paraffin, which is a wider claim than it looks: beeswax and paraffin want temperatures well above a container soy. Without a published range there is no way to confirm the unit reaches them.
It is the same pot the kits are built around, which means the kit price is mostly wax, jars and gift packaging.
Good
- Detachable stainless inner pot with a spout, which is the difference between pouring and decanting
- Digital display rather than a dial
- Costs roughly half the cheapest ZEROMX kit
Less good
- No published temperature range, wattage or capacity - three figures a melter should print
- Claims suitability for beeswax and paraffin without publishing a ceiling that would support it
- The included wicks are unspecified, so they are a bonus rather than a part you can size
Skip this one if
A pouring pot in a pan of simmering water is already working for you. This buys unattended temperature holding, not better candles.

Pick 5 · Nothing we can recommend it for over the 8-jar kits
ZEROMX 161-Piece Candle Making Kit with Digital Wax Melter
ZEROMX
Sixteen jars and fifty wicks sound like twice the kit. The wax is the same published 1200 g as the 8-jar boxes, which is about half what sixteen jars need, so the extra jars are empty glass you pay for and then have to buy wax to fill.

- Also includes
- 16 gift boxes, 2 heat-resistant gloves, 2 gift tags, stirring spoon, 20 m ribbon, illustrated guideSource: Amazon product listing, read 2026-10-23
What that means
1200 g is 42.3 oz of wax. Into sixteen jars that is 2.6 oz each, which at the site's 0.8 conversion fills a 3.3 fl oz vessel. Nothing in this kit is a 3 oz jar, and the listing does not publish the capacity, so the buyer cannot run this check before ordering.
The 161-piece headline is doing the work here. Fifty wicks and sixteen gift boxes are cheap; wax is the expensive part, and the wax did not change.
It is the only kit in the line with eight scents rather than six, and the only one that includes a printed guide. Neither is worth the jar problem.
Good
- Eight scents rather than six
- Includes an illustrated step-by-step booklet, which the other kits do not
- Same digital pot as the pricier 8-jar model
Less good
- 1200 g of wax cannot fill 16 jars of any size this kit plausibly ships
- The piece count counts wicks, boxes and tags to reach 161
- Jar capacity unpublished, which is what hides the shortfall
- Same unnamed scents and no published pot temperature range
Skip this one if
You are buying on the piece count. The 8-jar kits hold the same wax and let you fill every vessel in the box, which is the only piece count that matters.
The pot, which is what you are really buying
Strip the gift boxes out and a ZEROMX kit is a temperature-controlled melting pot with wax and jars around it. Three of the four kits use the same 500 ml LED digital pot. One uses a 900 ml pot with no display and includes a separate thermometer instead.
The 900 ml version is more interesting than its lower price suggests. 1200 g of melted soy is roughly 1.3 liters, so a 500 ml pot is a three-batch job and a 900 ml pot is closer to two. You are trading unattended temperature holding for capacity, and the listing does not present that as a trade-off anywhere.
- Neither pot publishes a temperature range. Not a minimum, not a maximum, not a hold tolerance. An LED display and precise temperature control, with no number.
- Neither publishes a wattage, so heat-up time cannot be estimated either.
- The standalone melter names soy, beeswax and paraffin. Beeswax and paraffin want working temperatures well above a container soy, and without a published ceiling there is no way to confirm the unit reaches them.
- The detachable inner pot is the genuinely good feature, and it is only called out on the standalone listing. A fixed-bowl melter has to be scraped out while hot.
That missing temperature range matters more here than it would on most products, because every published instruction for candle wax is a temperature. Golden Wax 464 publishes 170 to 180F to heat, fragrance at 170F and a 140F pour. A pot that will not say what it reaches cannot be checked against any of that. The candle wax temperature chart collects the published figures the pot would need to hit.
The wax nobody names
All four kits say premium natural soy wax. None names a brand and none publishes a melt point or a pour temperature.
This is the practical consequence: you cannot look up your own wax. The whole method on this site is built on published figures for a named wax, and an unnamed soy blend has none. What you are left with is the generic container-soy window - heat to the high 170s, pour around 140F - and a first batch that is a test rather than a repeat of something documented.
It also means the kit cannot be restocked like for like. When the 1200 g runs out you are buying a different wax, and it will behave differently. Best soy wax for candles ranks the named blends on their published melt points for exactly that moment.
The essential oil claim
Every kit in the line describes its scents as essential oils - six of them, or eight in the 161-piece box. None is named, and no botanical source is given for any of them.
Two things follow. The first is that an unnamed scent cannot be re-ordered, so the fragrance in this kit is a one-off regardless of whether you like it. The second is that a genuine essential oil would be a poor choice here anyway: fragrance oil vs essential oil sets out why volatile plant distillates mostly leave the wax before they scent a room, and why almost every commercial candle uses fragrance oil instead. At this price across six bottles, fragrance oil is also the far likelier contents.
So the label is either inaccurate or it is describing a material that will underperform. Neither reading is a reason to buy the kit for its scents, and both are reasons to budget for a named oil early. Best fragrance oils for candles ranks the ones that publish a composition claim you can check.
The molds, and what they are actually for
Three of the four kits include silicone molds: three single flowers, or two succulent trays carrying six patterns. The succulent listing suggests them for wax melts as well as candles, and that is the more sensible use.
A sculpted shape with no wick is a wax melt and it works. A sculpted shape with a wick is a free-standing pillar candle, and a container soy is the wrong wax for one: best soy wax for pillar candles puts a dedicated pillar blend at a published 142 to 146F against a container blend's 113 to 118F, and that thirty-degree gap is the difference between a shape that holds and one that slumps on a warm windowsill. The kit's unnamed wax is a container soy by every other sign in the box.
Used as melt molds they are a genuine bonus, and how to make wax melts is the process. Used as candle molds they will disappoint, and it will not be the mold's fault.
What it does well
- Publishes the wax weight. Four listings, four printed figures, which makes the whole line costable. Most kit listings do not allow this.
- Three of four kits are internally consistent. Eight jars and 1200 g of wax actually match, which sounds like a low bar until you check the category.
- Sells the pot separately. A buyer who already owns jars and wax is not forced into a gift box to get temperature control.
- Detachable stainless inner pot with a spout. The feature that decides whether a melter is pleasant to use a second time.
- Liquid primaries instead of dye blocks. Red, yellow and blue with a fine nozzle genuinely does give you any shade, and the dose is controllable. The claim here is accurate.
What it does not
- No temperature range on any pot in the line. The central feature, unquantified.
- No jar capacity on any kit. Which is what hides the 16-jar shortfall.
- No wax brand and no melt point. So nothing in the box can be looked up or repeated.
- Unnamed scents, described as essential oils. Not re-orderable, and the description does not stand up.
- A piece count as the headline. 161 pieces is wicks and ribbons, and the wax is the same as the smallest kit.
Who should buy which
- You want one box and a first candle tonight: the 8-jar kit with the 500 ml digital pot. Everything in it can be used, which is the point of a kit.
- You would rather watch a thermometer and melt more at once: the 900 ml kit. It is usually cheaper and the pot is nearly twice the size. You are supplying the temperature control yourself.
- You want sculpted shapes: the succulent kit, and use the molds for wax melts rather than candles.
- You already have wax and jars: the melter on its own, at roughly half the cheapest kit, then choose a named wax.
- You are buying on the piece count: do not. The 161-piece kit is the one box in the line whose contents do not add up.
The verdict
ZEROMX does the hard thing and publishes its wax weight, then undermines it by selling a kit whose jar count the wax cannot support. Buy an 8-jar version, treat the six scents as a sample rather than a supply, and accept that the unnamed wax makes your first batch a test. If the temperature-controlled pot was the whole attraction, buy it on its own and spend the difference on a named wax and a named fragrance oil - that is a better kit than any of these four, assembled yourself, and kit vs buying supplies separately does that arithmetic properly.

Common questions
Which ZEROMX candle making kit should I buy?
The 8-jar kit with the 500 ml digital melting pot. All four kits publish the same 1200 g of soy wax, and 1200 g is about 42 oz, which fills roughly eight 6 to 7 oz jars. The 8-jar kits let you use everything in the box; the 161-piece kit ships sixteen jars against the same wax.
How many candles does a ZEROMX kit make?
About eight, at the jar sizes these kits ship. The published 1200 g is 42.3 oz of wax, and at the standard conversion of 0.8 oz of wax per fluid ounce of container that is 7.6 jars at 7 fl oz or 8.8 at 6 fl oz. The listings do not publish the jar capacity, so that is an inference from the wax weight and the jar count.
Is the 161-piece ZEROMX kit better value?
No. It holds the same published 1200 g of wax as the 8-jar kits and twice the jars, so about half the glass stays empty until you buy more wax. The 161 pieces are reached by counting fifty wicks, sixteen gift boxes, tags and ribbons.
What temperature does the ZEROMX melting pot reach?
Not published. None of the four kits, and not the standalone melter, states a temperature range, a hold tolerance or a wattage. That is the main specification gap in the line, because every published wax instruction is a temperature.
Are the scents in a ZEROMX kit really essential oils?
The listings say essential oil and name none of them, and give no botanical source. At this price across six bottles fragrance oil is far likelier. Either way they cannot be re-ordered because they are unnamed, and essential oils are the weaker choice in wax in any case.
Can I use the floral molds in the kit for candles?
They work better for wax melts. A free-standing molded candle needs a pillar wax, and these kits ship an unnamed container soy. Published pillar blends sit around 142 to 146F against a container blend's 113 to 118F, and that gap is what keeps a shape standing.
Should I buy the ZEROMX melter without the kit?
If you already own jars, wax and wicks, yes. It is roughly half the price of the cheapest kit and it is the same pot, with a detachable stainless inner pot and a pouring spout. You then choose a named wax with published temperatures, which is the thing the kits take away from you.
What else do I need with a ZEROMX kit?
A kitchen scale, because fragrance load is a weight percentage, and more wax than the kit contains if you intend to keep going. The 161-piece kit also needs extra wax to fill its own jars. A thermometer is only required for the 900 ml version, which includes one.
