SAEUYVB Candle Making Kit Review

One of the few kits that publishes its wax weight, sold under four near-identical listings. Here is which one you are looking at.

Complete Candle Making Kit with Wax Melter, Soy Wax, Scents, Dyes and Tins
Complete Candle Making Kit with Wax Melter, Soy Wax, Scents, Dyes and TinsThis is the box that publishes the longest inventory of what is actually inside: wax, melter, scents, dyes, wicks, wick stickers and tins. When kits refuse to tell you what is in them, one that does is worth something.
The widest published contents list

This kit turns up in our search data by name, which is unusual: most people search for a kit type rather than a brand. So this page does what a brand-and-model search wants, which is to say exactly what is in the box, what it costs per candle, and which of the near-identical listings you are actually looking at.

We have not used this kit and we do not claim to. Everything below is transcribed from the published contents list, plus arithmetic we show.

What the listing publishes

Cost per candle, worked

That arithmetic exposes the one gap in an otherwise complete listing: the tin size is not published. Sixteen tins and 48 ounces of wax only balance if the tins are around 4 fluid ounces. If they are larger, the wax runs out first.

The four listings problem

SAEUYVB sells several kits whose titles are nearly identical. Searching the brand returns at least four, and the contents are not the same.

SAEUYVB kits we found on the catalog, by published contents
ListingWaxHeat sourceTins
Hot plate kit, the one reviewed here1.5 lb x 2Electric hot plate, 500 ml LED pot16, with 16 gift boxes

So the brand name tells you almost nothing. The third listing ships a third more wax and publishes its tin sizes, which the one reviewed here does not. Read the specific listing you are on, which is advice that applies to this brand more than to any other kit maker we track.

What it does well

  • It includes a heat source. The single most under-budgeted item for a beginner, and the difference between a kit you can use tonight and one that sends you shopping.
  • The pot has a temperature display. Published wax instructions are temperatures, so a pot that shows one removes the separate thermometer a beginner would otherwise need. Best thermometers covers the alternative.
  • It publishes its wax weight, which is what this whole page's arithmetic rests on.
  • It includes warning stickers. Small, but it is the one labeling item you cannot skip if the candle leaves your house. Candle safety and labeling sets out why.
  • It is packaged as a gift, with boxes and ribbons for all 16 candles.

What it does not

  • No wick centering devices. Twenty wooden holders are listed, which position a wick, but the kit ships no metal centering bars. An off-center wick is the most common cosmetic failure in a first batch. Best wick centering tools.
  • Unnamed scents and dyes. Eight fragrances with no names cannot be re-ordered, so a candle you like is not repeatable.
  • No published tin size, which is the gap in the cost arithmetic above.
  • No published wick series. Twenty wicks of unknown size, which is the same problem every kit has: a generic wick is not sized to your tin.
  • Four confusable listings, which is a brand-level problem rather than a product one.

What that means

Functionally this sits alongside the FAIRYELF kit: soy wax, containers, wicks, fragrance, and a hot plate so you are not improvising a heat source.

SAEUYVB list several near-identical kits at different bundle sizes. Read the specific listing you are on rather than assuming the contents from the brand name.

Good

  • Heat source included
  • Restrained presentation
  • Soy wax, so the pour temperatures are forgiving

Less good

  • The brand lists several similar kits, which makes comparing them by name unreliable
  • Fragrance oils and dyes are unnamed, so a scent you like cannot be re-ordered

You want the cheapest route to a first candle. This is a gift-framed box with 16 tins and the presentation to match, and a plainer kit costs less per candle.

What that means

Two pounds is 32 ounces of wax. At the 0.8 fill factor soy runs at, that is roughly ten 4-ounce candles or five 8-ounce candles, before you account for what stays in the pot.

When we first wrote this up, one kit in seven published a wax weight. Re-checking the listings on 2026-09-21, four of the seven now do. Being able to do that arithmetic in advance is still worth more than an extra bottle of unnamed fragrance oil.

The two centering devices matter more than they sound. Kits almost always ship wick stickers and no holders, and an off-center wick is the most common cosmetic failure in a first batch - this is the only kit here that includes both.

A published pot capacity of 32 oz is a genuinely useful figure: it tells you the kit melts its entire 2 lb of wax in one go rather than in two batches at different temperatures.

Good

  • Publishes the wax weight, so cost per candle is computable before purchase
  • Hot plate and 304 stainless pouring pot both included
  • Includes centering devices, which nearly every other kit omits
  • Publishes the pot capacity and dimensions

Less good

  • Fewer decorative extras than the gift-framed kits
  • Fragrance oils are unnamed, so they cannot be re-ordered
  • The listing notes the pot smokes slightly on first use as a protective film burns off

Skip this one if

You are buying a present and want it to look like one out of the box. This kit is the practical choice, not the pretty one.

Not published on the listing

What that means

A hot plate turns a kit from a bag of ingredients into a working setup. Without one you are melting wax in a pan of water on the stove, which works, but adds a step and a temperature you cannot read.

The dyes and dried flowers are the part that makes this read as a gift box rather than a supply order. That is the point if you are buying it for someone in December, and beside the point if you are buying for yourself.

The listing does not state how much wax is in the box. Assume one to two pours, not a stock of it.

Good

  • Heat source in the box, so nothing else is required on day one
  • Containers, wicks, fragrance and dye all included
  • Presents as a gift without extra packaging

Less good

  • Wax quantity is not published, so you cannot compute cost per candle before buying
  • Included fragrance oils are unnamed, which makes them impossible to re-order by name

Skip this one if

You already own a pouring pot or a double boiler. You would be paying for a hot plate you do not need, and buying wax and wicks separately gets you more of both.

WITOROR Candle Making Kit with Digital Wax Melt Warmer product photo

Pick 4 · Reading the wax temperature without a separate thermometer

WITOROR Candle Making Kit with Digital Wax Melt Warmer

WITOROR

A digital warmer means the temperature is a number on a display rather than a guess. For a beginner that removes the single biggest cause of a bad first candle: adding fragrance to wax that is too hot or too cool.

Not published on the listing

What that means

Golden Wax 464's published instructions call for adding fragrance at 170F and pouring at 140F. Hitting those numbers requires reading the wax, and a digital warmer reads it for you.

The listing does not publish the warmer's temperature range or accuracy, so treat the display as a guide and add a clip thermometer if you start selling.

Good

  • Digital temperature display removes the main beginner failure mode
  • Complete kit, so nothing else needed on day one

Less good

  • Warmer accuracy and range are not published
  • Digital warmers cost more than a pouring pot, and the pot lasts longer

Skip this one if

You are buying one kit as a one-off holiday activity. A hot plate kit does the same job for less, and the digital display is wasted on a single pour.

Complete Candle Making Kit with Wax Melter, Soy Wax, Scents, Dyes and Tins product photo

Complete Candle Making Kit with Wax Melter, Soy Wax, Scents, Dyes and Tins

Generic (Amazon listing)

This is the box that publishes the longest inventory of what is actually inside: wax, melter, scents, dyes, wicks, wick stickers and tins. When kits refuse to tell you what is in them, one that does is worth something.

What that means

Wick stickers are the small thing that ruins a first pour when they are missing. They are what holds the wick tab to the bottom of the jar while the wax sets; without them the wick lifts and floats off-center.

Tins rather than glass means you cannot watch the melt pool form. That is a real loss when you are learning what a full melt pool looks like, and it is why we would take a glass-jar kit first.

Good

  • Publishes an itemized contents list, which most kits do not
  • Wick stickers included, so the first pour does not fail on a missing accessory
  • Melter included

Less good

  • Tins hide the melt pool, which is the single most useful thing to watch on a first candle
  • Unbranded, so the wax grade is unknown

Skip this one if

You want to see what the wax is doing while it burns. Buy a kit with glass jars, or buy jars separately.

How it compares to the alternatives

Against the BBAXI kit, which is our overall beginner pick: BBAXI publishes less wax at 2 lb but publishes its pouring pot capacity and dimensions, and it includes the two centering devices this kit lacks. SAEUYVB gives you more wax, more containers and the gift presentation.

Against the FAIRYELF and WITOROR kits: neither publishes a wax weight at all, so neither can be costed before purchase. That is the whole argument for this one.

The full ranking, with the criteria stated first, is on best candle making kits for beginners.

Who should buy it

Buy it if you want a gift-ready box that makes roughly fifteen small candles, with a heat source and a temperature display included, and you are comfortable buying centering devices separately for a few dollars.

Skip it if you want the cheapest route to a first candle, in which case a plainer kit costs less per candle, or if you want to know the container size before you order, which this listing does not tell you.

And if you are still deciding whether a kit is the right purchase at all, kit vs buying supplies separately runs that comparison with the arithmetic shown. For the opposite end of the market, the Sculpd candle making kit review examines a kit costing several times as much that publishes no wax weight at all.

Common questions

Is the SAEUYVB candle making kit any good?

On published contents it is one of the better-documented kits: 3 lb of soy wax stated as two 1.5 lb bags, a 500 ml melting pot with an LED temperature display, 16 tins and gift boxes. We have not used it. Its weaknesses are unnamed scents, no centering devices and no published tin size.

How much wax comes in the SAEUYVB kit?

Three pounds, published as 1.5 lb x 2. That is more wax than any other kit we track publishes, and it is what lets you work out cost per candle before buying.

How many candles does the SAEUYVB kit make?

About 15 at a 4-ounce tin size, since 3 lb is 48 ounces and a 4 fl oz tin holds roughly 3.2 oz of soy. The kit supplies 16 tins, so the wax runs out marginally before the containers do.

Why are there several SAEUYVB kits that look the same?

The brand lists at least four near-identical kits with different contents: different pot sizes, tin counts and in one case an extra pound of wax. The titles are almost interchangeable, so read the specific listing rather than relying on the brand name.

Does the SAEUYVB kit include a thermometer?

Not a separate one. The melting pot has an LED temperature display, which covers the same job, since the published wax instructions are all temperatures.

Does it come with wick centering devices?

No. It lists 20 wooden wick holders but no metal centering bars. That is the kit's most useful omission to fix, and it costs a few dollars separately.

Is the SAEUYVB kit better than the BBAXI kit?

It has more wax, more containers and gift packaging. BBAXI publishes its pouring pot capacity and includes two centering devices, which SAEUYVB does not. For a gift, this one; for a first practical setup, BBAXI.
