Disclosure
Affiliate disclosure
Plainly, and in one sentence: some links on this site earn us a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you, and it does not change what we recommend.

The required statement
Wickcraft Co is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Which programs
Amazon Associates only. Our tracking tag is wickcraftco-20. That is the entirety of our affiliate relationships as of the date at the top of this page. We have not joined any CJ or Awin program, and we do not build tracked links for programs we have not joined.
Some pages link to supplier sites — CandleScience and Lone Star Candle Supply — as sources for published wick charts and wax specifications. We earn nothing from those links. They are citations, not recommendations to buy.
How the links work
Every commercial link on this site points at an on-site address beginning /go/, which redirects to the retailer with our tracking tag attached. Two reasons: it lets us count buy-clicks in our own analytics, and it means a destination can be changed in one place if a product moves or a better retailer becomes available, without rewriting the page.
Those links carry rel="sponsored nofollow", which is the markup search engines ask for on paid links, and the redirect route is excluded from search indexes.
Where the disclosure appears
Above the fold on every page that carries a product recommendation, not just here and not just in the footer. Every buy button on the site also carries an #ad marker and a link back to this page.
This is deliberate. Our research into this niche found competitors embedding retailer links with no visible disclosure on the article at all, and most of the rest placing it only in the footer. Disclosure at the point of the link costs nothing and it is what the FTC’s guidance on endorsements is actually asking for.
What commission does not affect
- Rank order. Picks are ranked by the criteria stated on each page and on the methodology page. Commission rate is not one of them.
- Which products appear. Every roundup includes at least one product we recommend against, and several pages recommend a cheaper option over a more expensive one.
- Whether a page has products at all. Several pages here carry no buy links, because no product honestly fits them.
- What we say about a product. Every pick names the buyer it is wrong for.
The structural evidence is easier to check than any promise. The equipment pages consistently argue for a pouring pot in a pan of water over an electric melter that would earn several times the commission. The kit pages argue that a kit is the wrong purchase from the second batch onward. Those are not the recommendations a commission-optimizing site makes.
Prices
Prices shown on this site are pulled from the retailer and carry the date they were verified. They change constantly and the price you see at the retailer is the one that applies. Where our price data is missing or older than 48 hours, the page shows “check price” and no number at all, rather than a figure that might be wrong.
We do not publish remembered, estimated or historical prices anywhere on this site.
Product data
Product names, identifiers and photographs come from the retailer’s own listings and data. Star ratings and review counts, where they appear, belong to the retailer and are attributed as such — they are not our assessment and we do not re-present them as one.
We publish no first-party rating or review structured data for any product, because we have not tested any of them. See how we pick.
