What this site is

An independent publisher writing about candle making for a general audience. It is informational. It is not professional advice, and it does not sell anything.

Accuracy

We compile published manufacturer specifications and published sizing charts, show our arithmetic, and cite our sources. That is set out in full on the methodology page. We nonetheless make no warranty that everything here is accurate, current or complete.

Manufacturers revise specifications, suppliers revise charts, and products are discontinued. Where a figure here matters to you, check it against the manufacturer current documentation. If you find an error, please tell us and we will correct it and date the correction.

Safety

Candle making involves hot wax, and candles involve an open flame. Content here about temperatures, wick sizing and safe burning is general information drawn from published standards and manufacturer instructions. It is not a substitute for the instructions supplied with the products you own.

You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of anyone else affected by what you make. Read candle safety and labeling before you make candles for anyone else.

If you sell candles, compliance with applicable fire safety and labeling standards is your responsibility. Nothing on this site is legal or regulatory advice.

The wick sizing data compiled here is transcribed from charts published by the suppliers named on each row, and those figures belong to their publishers. Our contribution is the cross-reference, the arrangement and the analysis. Product names, trademarks and product photographs belong to their respective owners.
